About Us
Skills Canada Nunavut is a non-profit organization working to reposition skilled trades and technologies as first choice career options for
northern youth. We work with youth, employers, educators, labour groups, and governments to accomplish our mission. In
September of 2005, Skills Canada Nunavut became part of the national family of Skills/Compétences Canada.
What does Skills Canada do?
We provide venues for young people to explore the many opportunities available in skilled trades and technology careers.
In partnership with private and public sector partners, our organization is helping address the north’s
need for a skilled workforce. We do this through a variety of unique events such as Cardboard Boat Races, Chariots
of Champions (Cardboard Qamotiq Races), Skills Clubs and Territorial Skills Competitions.
