Teacher Resources

Welcome teachers! Skills Canada Nunavut has many opportunities for you to get involved with your students in learning about skilled trade and technology careers.

Be sure to search for the many resources that we have sent to your schools. You should have a Teacher Resource Manual filled with lesson plans and information about skilled trade and technology careers, and about Skills Canada Nunavut events and activities. This resource is recommended for use in grades 8,9 & 10.

You should also have our booklet series that focus on all of the careers found in various sectors - Service, Construction, Mining, IT, Transportation, and Manufacturing. Please let us know if you require more of the booklets.

Skills Clubs are extracurricular clubs where a volunteer spends a few hours a week working with a group of students to teach them about a specific skilled trades or technology career - a great hands-on way for students to learn. We can help get you started, call our office today.

If you choose to participate, please let us know and we can help buy some of your supplies.

***Teachers... Please be sure to choose a Skills Canada Liaison at your next staff meeting and fax us the Skills Liason Form (Document: 378 kb) with the name of the liaison. This will ensure we have a representative at each school who will get information from our office and will share it with the rest of the staff.
