The Skills Canada National Competition (SCNC) is the largest skilled trades and technology competition in Canada. Each year, Team Nunavut proudly sends the gold medal winners from the Territorial Skills Competition to compete against the best students and apprentices from every province and territory.

For Skills Nunavut, attending SCNC means:

  • Representing Nunavut on the national stage while showcasing the talent, determination, and resilience of Nunavummiut youth.
  • Providing life-changing experiences that build confidence, independence, leadership, and professionalism.
  • Connecting competitors with industry leaders, employers, and post-secondary institutions from across Canada, opening doors to future education and careers.
  • Celebrating excellence in skilled trades and technologies while inspiring other young people in Nunavut to pursue rewarding careers.
  • Building Team Nunavut, where competitors support one another, create lasting friendships, and take pride in representing their communities and territory.

The experience extends beyond the competition floor. Competitors participate in opening and closing ceremonies, network with peers from across Canada, explore interactive exhibits, and gain exposure to new technologies and career pathways that may not be available in their home communities.

At Skills Nunavut, we believe that every competitor who earns the opportunity to attend the Skills Canada National Competition is already a champion. By representing Nunavut, they inspire future generations, strengthen our territorial workforce, and demonstrate that Nunavummiut have the skills, talent, and determination to compete with the best in Canada.
