Try a Trade® Kits are single or multi use activities that teachers can order for their classrooms. The kits reflect a trade or technology skill and get students to practice their hands on application skills.
Try a Trade® introduces youth to the exciting world of skilled trades and technologies through engaging, hands-on activities. Participants have the opportunity to explore a variety of trades by working with tools, materials, and equipment under the guidance of experienced instructors and industry professionals.
These interactive sessions are designed to spark curiosity, build confidence, and help participants discover their interests and talents. Whether it’s carpentry, welding, electrical, hairstyling, culinary arts, robotics, or another skilled trade, each activity provides a meaningful introduction to real-world skills and career opportunities.
Try a Trade events encourage participants to ask questions, learn by doing, and explore the many rewarding pathways available in the skilled trades and technologies. By creating positive first experiences, the program helps inspire the next generation of skilled workers while strengthening communities across Nunavut.
